- Type 1: Synergistic/poly-microbial, Streps, anaerobes. Risk factors DM, Obesity, Immunosuppression, elderly
- Type 2: Group A strep (S. pyogenes), younger age, associated with cut/injury. “Dish water” exudate. Treatment: surgical emergency
